Toba Lake

A.k.a Lake Toba or Danau Toba is the largest lake in Southeast Asia.

Everyone who visits Medan, definitely they will visit Danau Toba. Visits Danau Toba means visit North Sumetara / Medan.

Firstly i thought i will never get there coz the journey from Medan to Lake Toba takes around 4 hours and the distance from Medan to Lake Toba is about 176km. It takes so bloody long time for 176km, if in M'sia, it only takes around 2 hours drive. Perhaps the roads there are mess so it takes so looooong time.

We spent a lot of bucks there. Nearly1 million Rupiah. Is not becoz of the entrance fees were expensive, but the transportation fees in Medan were so bloody expensive!! It charged 100k Rupiah from Medan to the Lake Toba. And it charged 400k Rupiah  for the boat from Parapat to Samosir Island!!!

I hated the public transports in Medan. It sucks!! Extremely sucks! Perhaps you need to be very talent in bargaining the price, if not, you would 'lost' your money a lot in transportation. It's not worth to spend those money, i would rather spend it for meals.

It's undeniable that the view of Danau Toba is super gorgeous. Samosir Island, an island as big as Singapore. The Samosir Island is just infront of the Parapat. You either can take ferry or boat to get there from Parapat.

The man was fishing. Indeed there are a lot of fishes in the lake. The water is so clear that you can see variety of fishes swimming in the water.
 While waiting for the boat coming, what to do? Camwhore lah!
Finally I've abroad the boat. The wind was so big, it made my hair looks messy.
Arrived Samosir Island. The place is called "Tomok".
Shops in Tomok. Remember the last post i have mentioned that the stuffs sell in Medan were so bloody expensive? Same goes to all these shops.

Not even interested in all these stuffs. Sure must be very expensive, no need to ask one.

The local people here mostly are Christian. I mean in Tomok, not in Medan.

I've taken a lot of scenic view pictures. Well, I can't post all of it. Coz the streamyx line is sucks!! I've taken 3 hours to upload all these photos!!!Wtf.

If you would like to go to Danau Toba too, my advise is, you have to stay there. Coz it takes really long time to get there and if you don't want stay there and choose to return to Medan again, it will takes one day time (8 hours) for the journey. Like me, I've no choice, becoz I had already booked 3 nights stay in Medan, definitely i won't stay in Danau Toba and burn my one night stay in Hotel Sun Yat Sen. It will cost me a lot and I don't think so that the hotels in Danau Toba are cheap, coz all stuffs here were expensive.

Plan go to Medan and Lake Toba?? Perhaps you need to bring more money!! Although the flight ticket was cheap from Airasia, but the expenses used at there are really a lot!! The transportation costs consumed the most, unreasonable expensive!!Wtf.
